Speaking in a special Dail debate yesterday afternoon, Dublin North East Deputy Tommy Broughan asked the Ministers for Education and Children to ensure that critical funding is maintained under Budget 2012 for the RASP and Sphere 17 organisations in Dublin 17.
One of the new Dail reforms is the Topical Issues Debate which allows a Deputy to raise an issue of concern early on in the Dail daily schedule. On Tuesday September 20th last Tommy raised the ongoing fire safety concerns at Priory Hall as a Topical Issue.

Ceann Comhairle, let me firstly commend Minister Kathleen Lynch in her new role as Minister for Mental Health and in her efforts to progress services and facilities for citizens with mental health needs. And I am glad to have the opportunity to bring the critical issue of mental health services in the North Dublin area to the Minister’s attention tonight.
Ceann Comhairle, Priory Hall, is a residential complex of 187 units on the new Main Street linking Clongriffin and Belmayne in Dublin 13 in the vast new North Fringe residential district in Dublin North East. The estate originally had a mixture of private purchasers, private tenants, City Council Tenants, and residents who moved in through the City Council’s Rental Accommodation Scheme and Affordable Housing Scheme.
